The responsibility of the preceptor is to supervise clinical care at the SRFC. Student volunteers (from various medical disciplines) see patients and then report their findings to preceptors, who then validate the students' assessment and plan for the patient and sign off on the patient's chart. The preceptor will see the patient with the student team after reviewing the information provided by the student team. The goal is for the preceptor to help educate and teach the students on aspects of providing care when it comes to history taking, physical exam, patient presentation, and documenting.
