PRECEPTORS
The clinic is unable to operate without the generosity of healthcare providers who volunteer their time to help precept at the clinic and teach the next generation of healthcare providers. To precept at the clinic, you must be affiliated with University of South Alabama or USA Health, and be one of the following:
Physician
Resident
Physician Assistant
Pharmacist
Nurse Practitioner
The responsibility of the preceptor is to supervise clinical care at the SRFC. Student volunteers of various medical disciplines will see patients and report their findings to the preceptors. Preceptors then validate the students' assessments, plan for the patient's care, and sign off on the patient's chart. After reviewing the information provided, the preceptor will see the patient along with the student team. The goal is for the preceptor to help educate the students in providing care on history taking, physical exams, patient presentation, and documentation.
